7 October 2026 was a moment of celebration, achievement and new beginnings as Enterprise iLembe Economic Development Agency, through the iLembe Business Incubation Programme, hosted the MSME and Co-operative Training and Development Programme Certificate Handover Ceremony.
The ceremony celebrated dedicated entrepreneurs and business owners who successfully completed the training programme and took an important step towards building stronger, more competitive and sustainable businesses.
Throughout the programme, beneficiaries gained practical knowledge and valuable business skills in financial management, tendering and procurement, business pitching, digital marketing, entrepreneurship development, value addition and agro-processing, agricultural market access and farming systems, and contractor development.
These skills are aimed at helping entrepreneurs manage their businesses better, access new opportunities, improve productivity and create sustainable enterprises.
Speaking at the ceremony, Enterprise iLembe Board Chairperson, Mr Nkosenhle Mngadi, highlighted the importance of skills development in empowering entrepreneurs and preparing young people to participate meaningfully in the local economy.
He also reflected on the various developments and economic opportunities taking place across the iLembe District, encouraging young people to equip themselves with the necessary skills and take advantage of programmes and opportunities available to them.
His message to the youth was clear: opportunities are being created, but young people must be prepared, develop their skills and position themselves to participate in the economic growth of the district.
Enterprise iLembe remains committed to empowering MSMEs and co-operatives through skills development, mentorship, market access and continued business support.
Every business that grows has the potential to create jobs, support families and contribute to the growth of the iLembe District economy.
