If you’re looking for something a little more rustic there is a wealth of choice: Salt Rock Caravan Park, Cane Cutters in Umhlali or Chaka’s Rock Chalets on the Beach Road. Inland, moving towards Stanger you’ve got your choice of delightful bed and breakfasts and lodges – try Ayer Rock in Stanger for a quiet, tranquil base with little noise and intrusion. If you are looking to be secluded in a quiet environment surrounded by Sugar Cane visit Palmland Bed and Breakfast. Blythedale Beach is also a treasure trove of beautiful options. Palm Dune is a favourite with high-ranking officials and celebrities, no surprise, considering how gorgeous the setting is, with its direct beach access. Also, pass by Baroque Bed and Breakfast, , it is absolutely worth it. Heading towards Maphumulo from Stanger, there’s Kearsney Manor, with its old world charm – a guesthouse and working farm perfect for that time when you just want to cut off from the hustle and bustle of life.

Zinkwazi Lagoon Lodge will make you fall in love with nature. While Nkwazi Camp Site, set among the sand dunes, is great for campers wanting to experience an earthy holiday. The Amatikulu Nature Reserve has rustic cabins and A-framed bungalows and you can also pitch your own tent for a very reasonable rate.
